July is hot in Provence - especially when you are out in the mid-day sun trying to capture the brilliant yellows and golds of a field of sunflowers in full bloom. This sketch was done from the edge of a side road between Avignon and Arles. Aside from the bees and the breeze, the only action was the local postmaster making her daily rounds.
