Blossoms in January are an irresistible draw for a prairie girl like me. I sketched these planters (brimming with impatiens) from the front veranda of the Mermaid And The Alligator, a charming inn located in Key West, Florida. I appreciate them even more now that I'm back in the deep freeze of a Saskatchewan winter.
